30 March is the auspicious date of mergence of Rajputana into Dominion of India. Thar the great Indian desert is located in Rajasthan and it is also a synonym of desert.

Rajasthan is important part of India and rajputana was it's name under British Raj. Rajasthan is world-famous for its arts and culture. Rajasthan abode is rich in kingdom history, historical monuments, vibrant and colorful cities and a rustic way of life. Land of kings is another name for Rajasthan.

After the dawn of independence in 1947 , with new sunrise 19 princely state and 3 chiefship amalgamated into a single political union. Rajasthan State became part of union mixture of Rajasthan Mewar and Marwar became part of union. Rajasthan name breaks down into two words Raja which means king and sthan means locality.

Princely states of Jodhpur, Jaipur , Jaisalmer and Bikaner State became part of the union on the state. On this auspicious day , the city host various events which depicts Heritage, tradition and culture. Rajasthan tourism department also hosts culture in Jaipur to exhibit its rich heritage of Rajasthan.

Mostly Rajasthan diwas is celebrated in the pink city of Jaipur. Albert Hall, Amer palace , statue circle and Hawa Mahal are important place for celebration of this day. Folk dance is important event that depicts Heritage of Rajasthan, cuisines , crafts , sports and music and dance also play important hand in preserving and telling of Rajasthan history.
